How installing works here

There is nothing to download and no app store. You open an app and tell your browser to keep it — it then has its own icon, opens without an address bar, and works with no signal. Each one is separate, so you install the ones you want and the others never appear.

Two steps, in your browser

Open the app from the list below.
Use your browser’s menu to add it to your home screen.

Samsung Internet

The menu button (☰) at the bottom right → Add page to → Home screen.

Chrome on Android

The three dots at the top right → Add to Home screen, or Install app if it offers that instead.

Safari on an iPhone or iPad

The share button (a square with an arrow out of the top) → Add to Home Screen. It has to be Safari — on an iPhone no other browser can do this.

Firefox on Android

The three dots → Install, or Add to Home screen.

On a computer

Chrome and Edge show a small install icon at the right-hand end of the address bar, or it is under the three dots → Install. They work perfectly well in an ordinary tab as well — installing just gets them out of your tabs.

The eight

Open one, add it, come back and tick it off. Nothing here can see whether it worked — your browser tells no page what it put on your home screen — so the tick is yours, and it is kept on this phone only.

If something goes wrong

It says it is already installed, and it is not on your home screen. Chrome sometimes holds on to a record of an app that has been gone for months and refuses to add it again. Samsung Internet uses its own mechanism and ignores whatever Chrome believes — adding it from there works.
Do not uninstall one to install it cleanly. Uninstalling can offer to delete the app’s data, and several of these share one storage area — one careless yes takes the shopping list, the gifts, the jobs and the recipes together. Make a backup from the app’s own Settings first if it really has to happen.
You cannot find it afterwards. Android files an installed app under its own name, so ReciPal sorts under R rather than with the others. It is not missing, it is just not where you looked.
